The first question is:

What is effective teaching?

Coe, Aloisi, Higgins & Elliot on 2014 define effective teaching as “that which leads to improved student achievement using outcomes that matter to their future success”.

Another definition:

Effective Teaching occurs when the learning experience structured by the teacher matches the needs of the learner. (Jafari, 2011).

Finally Atkins & Brown (2002) said than the effectiveness is directly related to the goals of teaching, and also the effective teaching increases: motivation, positive attitude of learning and yields of high achievements.

Who is an effective teacher?

According to Campbell (2004 in Ko, Sammons, & Bakkum, 2013) a teacher is effective if he/she can accomplish the planned goals and assigned tasks in accordance with school goals.

What is the profile of an effective teacher?

The effective teachers are clear about the instructional goals, know the content of the curriculum and the strategies to teach it, can adapt the instruction to the needs of the students, integrate their instruction with other subjects, and monitor the understanding of the students getting feedback regularly.
